Are there any laws or regulations in your country that restrict whether people with disabilities can obtain a driving license?

Yes, People with disabilities can obtain a driving license, as long as they are considered fit to drive after undergoing a medical examination. Restrictions and vehicle adaptation codes will be shown on the driving licenses.

Are there any restrictions on the type of vehicle or adaptation to controls that can be driven by a person with a disability?

Yes, Modified transmission; modified clutch; modified breaking systems; modified acceleration systems; pedal adaptations and safeguards; combined service brake, accelerator and steering systems; modified control layouts; modified steering; modified rear/side view devices; driver seating position.

Does your country have a national scheme of parking concessions for people with a disability?

Wheelchair users, People with walking difficulty, People with vision impairment, People with mental health issues, learning disabilities or Other (please specify): People with Autism Spectrum Disorders. People transporting or accompanying: A person with motor, physical or organic disabilities with a functional limitation of a permanent nature, of a degree equal to or greater than 60%, provided that such impairment makes it difficult for him to travel on public roads without the assistance of others or without recourse to means of compensation. Person with intellectual disability and with Autism Spectrum Disorder with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 60%. Visually impaired person, with a permanent change in the field of vision equal to or greater than 95%.

Which countries' parking cards are recognised (please list): 1 - Parking cards issued by the authorities of the other EU member states that have adhered to Council Recommendation No. 98/376 / EC, of 4 June, are recognized in Portugal. 2 - Parking cards issued by the authorities of ECMT countries and their associates are also recognized in Portugal, in accordance with CEMT Resolution No. 97/4, approved on 22 April.

Are there minimum dimensions for the size of a parking space reserved for a person with a disability?

Yes, Reserved spaces must have a minimum usable width of 2.5 meters and a minimum usable length of 5 meters. They must have a side access strip with a minimum width of 1 meter and be located along the shortest accessible route possible to the entrance / exit of the parking space. They should also have their limits marked by lines painted on the floor in a contrasting color with the rest of the surface; be reserved by a horizontal sign with the international accessibility symbol, painted on the floor in a color contrasting with that of the rest of the surface and with a dimension not less than 1 m on the side, and by a vertical sign with the accessibility symbol, visible even when the vehicle is parked. (Decreto-Lei n.º 163/2006, de 8 deagosto, whih established the accessibility regime for buildings and establishments receiving public, public roads and residential buildings)
