Part 1: Driving with a Disability

Are there any laws or regulations in your country that restrict whether people with disabilities can obtain a driving licence?

Yes,

Annex 3 of Directive 2006/126/EC has been harmonised to our national legislation. Certainly, this has been further analysed and the ability of driving with particular disabilities has been characterised as either prohibitive or enabling or must be further checked. Therefore, apart from the standard medical check made by ophthalmologist and pathologist or similar specialist, the candidate driver or driver has to pass by an orthopedic or the national Driver Assessment Centre for evaluating the kinetic disability of this person. For other disabilities, the same procedure occurs, thus passing by the relevant doctor.

Are there any restrictions on the type of vehicle or adaptation to controls that can be driven by a person with a disability?

Yes,

According to relevant codes referred in Annex I of Directive 2006/126/EC

If you have answered yes to Question 4 above, do the same restrictions apply to a person with a disability visiting your country in their own or a rented vehicle? Please give details

Yes,

Only, if there are restrictions mentioned on the driving licence of this person (and mainly EU and EEC driving licences).
