Part 1: Driving with a Disability

Are there any laws or regulations in your country that restrict whether people with disabilities can obtain a driving licence?

Yes,

In Denmark proof of fulfilment of compliance with minimum standards of physical and mental fitness for driving by drivers of vehicles used for the transport of persons or goods should be provided when the driving license is issued. A medical examination is required. Driving license can not be issued to people with disabilities that prevents them from driving safely. It is up to a medical assessment wheather a disabled person fulfils the minimum standards for pfysical fitness for driving. The driving license can be issued with certain conditions/restrictions, e.g. special adaption of the vehicle, or it can be issued with a shorter validity in order to follow the development of a certain condition periodically. You can find a guidance concerning the health standards and requirements in Denmark, which describes the different health conditions, here: https://stps.dk/da/helbred-og-koerekort/koerekort/vurderingaf-helbredsk…

Are there any restrictions on the type of vehicle or adaptation to controls that can be driven by a person with a disability?

Yes,

The type of restriction depends on the specific disability. See above answer to nr. 3

If you have answered yes to Question 4 above, do the same restrictions apply to a person with a disability visiting your country in their own or a rented vehicle? Please give details

No,

There is no specific regulation concerning foreign drivers with disabilities or other health issues. Basically, foreign visitors without normal residence in Denmark, who hold a valid license, are allowed to drive the type of vehicle that they are licensed to in their home country.
