Are there any restrictions on the type of vehicle or adaptation to controls that can be driven by a person with a disability?

Yes, the restrictions established in Supreme Decree No. 007-2016-MTC are as follows:

a) Motor vehicles with automatic transmission.

b) Motor vehicles especially conditioned.

c) With external corrective or contact lenses.

d) With headphones.

e) With two side rear-view mirrors and a mirror with 180 degree angle.

Yes, this is stipulated in the National Regulations of the Driving License Issuance System, established by Supreme Decree No. 007-2016 / 06/23/2016 "2.2. Additionally, the General Directorate of Land Transport may expand the list of restrictions to be consigned, upon request from the Ministry of Health. These restrictions must also be stated, if applicable, in the Driver's License"
